Jumeirah Messilah Beach, Kuwait
Posted on 21. Feb, 2010 by Ali in Hospitality
in case you were wondering what the hell is being built in Messilah for the past few years, we can say that we have an idea. The hotel is to be the first Jumeirah Hotel in Kuwait (which was originally planned to be a Regent Hotel and the first in the Middle East). Jumeirah Messilah Beach is a luxurious beachfront development that will feature 307 rooms and suites, 80 serviced apartments and 12 chalets and 429 parking spaces. Guests of the hotel will also have access to six distinguished restaurants and lounges, a Talise spa, 200-metre private beach, swimming pool and children’s play area, in addition to extensive conference and banqueting facilities. According to Mark it will be opened in May of this year.
Some interesting facts about the project;
- Project Owner and Developer: Al-Aziziah United General Trading and Contracting
- Owner Representative: Tony Barlow
- Hotel General Manager: Khaled Helmy
- Human Resources: Danny Barakat
- International Design Architect: Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill (SOM)
- Local Architect: Gulf Consult
- Interior Design: Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill (SOM)
- Security Consultant: International Connections Trading and Contracting WLL
- Marine Consultant: Halcrow International and Gulf Dredging
- Landscaping Consultant: Al Khatib Cracknell (AKC)
- Bathymetric Consultant: Survey and Test Consultant International (STCI)
- Contractor: The Kuwait Company for Process Plant Construction and Contracting (KCPC) and Kokache
- Municipality Concept Design Approval Date: 2000
- Construction Start Date: 2004 (according to contracting)
- First Project Completion Date: 2007
- Current Project Completion Date: 2010
in case any of the above is wrong, please let us know. I guess the URL for the hotel will be http://www.jumeirahmessilahbeachhotel.com/ but it is not yet up and running and all you see is the company who is responsible in developing it which is called Melbourne IT Limited from Australia. Also there will be a Noodle House Res. just like most Jumeirah Hotels (Noodle house is owner by Jumeirah)

Sadly though only families are allowed to stay there, like it like other hotels. It’s horrible how everything is banned and forbidden in Kuwait. The funny thing is that single Kuwaitis can’t stay in those hotels to relax but foreigners can. Ridiculous.
