Why iPhone iOS 4 is disappointing?

I have upgraded my iPhone 3 GS to the new OS, iOS 4, and had many many troubles since then. The first problem was with iTunes 9.2 where my iPhone stopped syncing and never showed up in the devices list in iTunes when i connected it. I use Windows to sync my content. This problem has been known to so many people around the world and Apple is still not responding to the complains (learn more about the problem). Another problem is the constant crash of the iPod app where it stopped working all at once for no reason!!! (learn more about the problem) one last thing i still don’t get how does the multitasking work?? since every app you open will keep on being open even if you leave it; so would that affect the battery life? would that slow down the phone? would that cause app crashes? i keep on going to the opened apps and closing them in case it affects the already short life battery.
luckily i have a mac that i started syncing my content to it and was able to overcome all the above problems but i am disappointed at the bad way they handled their Windows version of the release.
