Makers & Shakers!!!!

Few days ago, a friend of mine asked how much influence political turmoil has on business stability and economy?. I thought to myself good question but has nothing to do with us in Kuwait since we -thank god- have no such political turmoil to begin with. Then I had a deeper look into his question and went “oh yes brother we sure do“!!!! Maybe not as obvious as the problems in Pakistan or even Lebanon, but we do…..

Now the question again was how much influence political turmoil has on business stability and economy?.

The body causing this political turmoil in Kuwait is the PARLIMENT and I am sure to most of you this did not come as a surprise. We all agree on one principle and that is Kuwait needs bright brains and fresh blood to get back to the so-called Golden Age by re-establishing Kuwait as the Pearl of the Gulf. This can only be possible if three major criterions are made available:

1- Decision makers in which the government has the sole responsibility to assure the right decisions are made and implemented.
2- Parliament members acting as the channel where all decisions must go and discussed among the members to achieve satisfaction and maximize the benefits.
3- Bright minded people to appreciate and follow the decisions without abusing their rights or freedom.

Kuwait has all of the above. HOWEVER, when it comes to the second criteria members of the parliament act as decision SHAKERS and not wise men as the newspapers like to call them!!!!!!!

So the question still stands, do we really have political turmoil in this democratic country? Moreover, my question is do we really need this parliament? Are we better off without it? Are the members (a.k.a. wise men) thinking about what Kuwait really needs and not what they need?

At the end, god bless Kuwait and its people and god help us all!!!!
