Cooperative Societies Union in Kuwait is no more!
Kuwait Government put an end to the ever longing discussion about the hiking consumer prices which is aggravating people’s appetite to salary increase. The question we have asked here this week was, was that the right move to resolve the problem?! how is the government going to proceed without the union where its been with us since 1941! listen to us this week and let us know what you think.

Hi,
Hard luck on the connectivity first. Last joke I heard was it’s caused by airplane which was flowing on a low height, thus interfered with wireless network in Egypt. Some news sites took it for real and posted it
For between brackets, you really spoke my mind there. What does it mean that lower payment employees get higher raise. It was initially they will get up to 400 KD, and people above 1000 KD get only 100 KD. I’m not so much looking for salary increase as I knew the result all along. But to have it this way is really outrageous, not only for me as a B.S. Holder. Even Diploma people are saying “So they don’t want us to continue our study then?” Salary difference is there for a reason from the first place. It got ridiculous in the amount of strikes, so Government stopped all raises and promised BIG increased based on thorough study that will end in about 3 months! From the moment I read it I knew it’s gonna be a joke. How can you finish a study for all salaries in less than 3 months? They just wanted to hit 25 Feb date. End result is, they ignored qualifications, they ignored the segment that already got high salary raise, those people should be excluded as they got their chunk, but instead, they want to bring closer people with no high school certificate, to people with M.S and Phd!
And there isn’t a big salary increase for petrol and Dr, so I heard they are gonna get it separately (back to square one)
As for removing the union, I am not sure what good it was doing us. Every day they used to promote fighting price increase, but I know some people in Kifan coop were looking for eggs during the crisis and found tons of eggs inside the store. The coop was hiding it there! So their words seems to contradict their acts. In the end, the big salary increase promises was welcomed by business owners who were proactive and raised their prices above any increase we are still hoping for, making matter worse not better. (God bless starting your own business I can only say)
P.S: Al Rutha Coop is one of the worst I’ve seen. People walk there just like they drive in the high way… annoying! They really need the walking license Musaed talked about

Bashar: Thanks for the comment as always and all I can say is “you da man” my friend. I totally agree with your point of view on the so called salary increase. I mean it’s time for people in this country to wake up and smell the coffee or should I say “CORRUPTION”. Enough is enough.
As for the topic, unions are meant to help people not destroy lives and businesses. Ministry of labor has full responsibility on all the non-sense happening in ours coops. For the love of God, right after the invasion all coops had almost anything a person would dream of and that was when everything was wrong in this country, so what went wrong now.
P.S. I pray God to really save our amazing and most beautiful country KUWAIT from sick people of different colors and minds and help us all…… Cheers
