Salah: Thanks for the comment. I really hope that this very risky period in Kuwait history ends with an ease. We have been through so much as of the last few months and we need the unity and support of each other as much as possible. Thanks once again and god bless Kuwait.

???????: Thanks for the comment. I have to agree with you on your points because both the government and the parliament need so much to work on to get this country into the safety zone.
Media outlets must use their power to serve not destroy this country, to help preserve this democracy and maintain it. We need to work as one unit to get as citizens what we want from our democracy. Thanks once again and keep the comments coming…..

    Hi Guys,

Thanks again for another great episode.

Between Brackets: I’m not the man of political sharp views, but side elections happen everywhere I guess, even in the US. You see Democrat elections to promote the candidate from their side. The point of argument happening here I think is, why are a7zab allowed to have side elections while families can’t. From their side it doesn’t make sense. I see however that there is a big difference. 7ezb in Kuwait have defined goals and thinking. They have their clear path. They are not biased to one family. With family side-elections however, it’s pure family thing and there is no goals or thoughts behind it. The person winning from this family will only represent his family personal needs, not the community obviously. The first condition, he is representing anyone who shares a similar thought. If the latter case makes sense, then let’s start asking for one representative from each family.

Street ads, I am always against exclusive stuff, temps abusing. You can tell clearly from the prices know, and I did notice idle period when this company it seems was waiting for clients to adapt to new price rates. Guess that’s one reason for price inflation. When KDD pays high for ads, they increase product price. Daah! However, those candidates street ads are really really annoying, and as you said, how can the guy speak about fixing stuff when he is ruining roads, causing accidents just to be elected! I was inside De3ya round about once when I literally hit the break and started searching for my way out. I thought I am in somewhere else, you can’t tell where you are.

Also, I wish to see some strong act on the mass SMS spamming those candidates do. I can’t believe why when I ask them, why do you send me. They tell me quite simply, if you don’t want, tell us and we will remove you. I didn’t ask you to spam me in the first please.

The newspaper ad prices you guys talked about is crazy, I think it will defeat it’s purpose easily. Maybe that’s the reason you see candidate ads on Facebook :). Also, mayb once those candidates win, first thing on the agenda is, raise our salaries.

TV Media. I wonder what our channels have to offer other than unprofessional show speakers, life audience, songs, dancing, and then ofcourse, the SMS channels. Did you notice people keep paying more for larger screen sizes, but the net total remains smaller because how much of the screen is eaten for news and SMS I don’t care about? Very rarely I see good eye catching speakers, and I’m always surprised why some people agree to go to biased speakers, giving them more credit. I haven’t really been watching any Kuwaiti channel lately (Thank God), but I heard channels for election only, which is really weird. Public channels however I believe should not be biased. They are hosting the candidate so that people hear him. I am thinking now, let’s open a channel and lease it for any election that comes up :)

Bashar: Thanks for yet another great comment. The problem about side elections is that usually a not so professional person that leads the tribe decides who run for election regardless of his eligibility simply because this is what the leader wants. The other problem is that if the chosen one was actually good then the following election he should step down because there will be a new list for waiting in line candidate.
Tribes with less number of members do not have the pleasure to even participate in such side election even if they have a person or more of high quality personality and education. So to me I just think it’s stupid to have it as long as we have one specific day for everyone to elect and get elected.
As for the topic, media is two sides weapon and it depends on how people use it. I mean in countries like USA or Australia every candidate has the full pleasure to have his/her saying without any influence from the government or media owner. Election campaign is meant to help both candidate and the general public to choose the right person. We need so much election awareness and right media control in order to get to the level of true unbiased media coverage.
Kuwait needs to wake up and smell the coffee; we have had enough of fooling around from parliament members over the past 17 years or so. Thanks for the comment once again and god bless Kuwait.

?: Thanks for the mini-comment and welcome aboard. Election is major business nowadays and we hope that people running for office understand that winning the election means serving this country and not themselves. Thanks once again and I have to say your nickname needs another nickname….. Cheers and gob bless :)
