I wont forget… and I wont forgive

Posted by Musaed on Aug 3, 2009 in Kuwait

Before I started this sensitive topic let me clarify one thing, this is mostly my thoughts, since my co creator and I do not fully agree on this topic, I will try to censer myself in respect to my friend’s opinion.

Now that I got this out of the way, it’s the second of august, the day of betrayal, Kuwait was raped on this day, Kuwaitis died on this day, families were ripped apart on this day. This day and 210 days to come.

I cant ask a mother to forgive and forget what the Iraqi solders did to her son, or a wife to forget her missing husband, or a father to forget his raped daughter. Kuwaiti people are soft hearted but we are not stupid nor fools by any means

we accept having such a neighbor just like a person who accept being born with a disease, it is something we are cursed to deal with, but it does not mean we have to like it.

Lets talk about peace, lets have peace, Mr. Neighbor you have your problems and I have mine, you owe me money, you pay me my money. Kuwait did its share of charity work toward this doomed neighbor, which can last for a lifetime. Sorry but we are fresh out of water, oil, or abandoned cars and furniture to give.

Speaking of oil, let me remind who ever wish to give up our rights in this regard, I still remember 12 PM midnight caused by black clouds when the Iraqis burned our 700 + oil fields.

To be fair, I know not all Iraqis are bad, so just let me cursed whoever, stole, raped, murdered, destroy, terrify, torture, and even those who ran check points. Ill let you, dear reader, do the counting.

My dear reader, whenever you find yourself getting soft toward this doomed neighbor, all you need to do is youtube some of the footage from this doomed day 1990 and your blood will boil and then I ask you “can you forgive? Or better yet can you forget?”

Father & Sons

Posted by Musaed on Jul 30, 2009 in Life

I was at the barbershop the other day, nothing fancy, just the “7alaq alJami3iya”. Two Pakistani brothers (who don’t talk to each other for a long while as far as I know) run the shop. Nevertheless that’s not why im writing this…

As I was inclined in that big execution chair, I saw this picture hanging on the wall, a head shot of a man, with very tough expression, I can tell from this expression that a smile never landed on this face for a long time, most likely the face muscles forgot the expression. I can tell the man looks a lot older then what he is, a product of a hard life I presume.

This man was obviously their father, they are proud of their father’s memories. But other then pure father to son love and respect, what is the real relation?

You see, sons these days are faced with a difficult dilemma, between the morals and ethics of the past and the needs of the presents. Most sons idealize their fathers, for being tough, faithful, uncompromising… and other macho qualities. Sons admire their fathers and want to be like them, but the truth is… they cant.

Not because they are not raised right, but because these morals are no longer “effective” in our current society. For example, in this age young men need to know the art of compromising, you have to look around you and compromise. In the past father disallow their daughters from traveling alone, study abroad, drive a jeep or a sport car! In the past father look down at a man wearing shorts! Or a long(er) hair style

These things are acceptable by us now, but not by the past generation which we admire.

Us, the next generation, the new fathers, need to get the essence of the idea, to be protective, to provide, to be their. The how and when is up to us! Think of it this way, the rules have changed, but it still a ball game J

What is your purpose?

Posted by Musaed on Jul 21, 2009 in Life

To quote agent Smith of the matrix“we all have purpose in life, without purpose, life is meaningless”. So far most of people i see live to go to work and spend the rest of the time recovering from work or talking about work. Our lives revolves around work. Your daily mood effected by work, your meals effected by work, your sleeping habits effected by work, even your vacation effected by work.

So what are we? Machines! We live to work and serve work, what about the other thing called life, what about enjoying life, or is that confined to two weeks in Europe? what if you hate working for others, what if you hate office hours, or you are made to like the night and not mornings? What if you are a creator and not a doer? What if you are a leader and not a followers? Do you submit yourselves to the mercy of your boss to recognize you? Do you wait for Mr. Boss to set you free?

There is more to life then this, work should be just a tool, a means to an end. The end is to enjoy life. If this is not the objective, then we are simply machines, we will continue to ran until we break down and be replaced. And what is left of us is an old useless machine dusty and slow. Do we really want that? HELL NO, life is alot more then 8 hours a day, there is alot to see, experince, enjoy, and risk out there. we wasted the past, lets not waste the future. lets go after it, all of it!

And to quote Queens “gotta find me a future, move out of my way!”
