According to professor Wikipedia, FIFA will pay Spain

30 Million Dollars for winning the world cup

The total prize money on offer for the tournament was confirmed by FIFA as $420 million (including payments of $40m to domestic clubs), a 60 percent increase on the 2006 tournament.[25] Before the tournament, each of the 32 entrants receive $1 million for preparation costs. Once at the tournament, the prize money would be distributed as follows:[25]

$8 million – To each team exiting after the group stage (16 teams)

$9 million – To each team exiting after the round of 16 (8 teams)

$14 million – To each team exiting after the quarter-finals (4 teams)

$18 million – Fourth placed team

$20 million – Third placed team

$24 million – Runner up

$30 million – Winner

In a first for the World Cup, FIFA made payments to the domestic clubs of the players representing their national teams at the tournament. This saw a total of $40 million paid to domestic clubs. This was the result of an agreement reached in 2008 between FIFA and European clubs to disband the G-14 group and drop their claims for compensation dating back to 2005 over the financial cost of injuries sustained to their players while on international duty, such as that from Belgian club Charleroi S.C. for injury to Morocco’s Abdelmajid Oulmers in a friendly game in 2004, and from English club Newcastle United for an injury to England’s Michael Owen in the 2006 World Cup.

i am a big fan of collage football, i follow it intimitly, lots of people ask me “why dont you follow the NFL?” the answer is long and extensive and i wont bore you with it. however, giving the fact that i have to defand my passion between once in awhile, i kept a keen eye on articles that will help me to do so.

i found this very inspiring short story that talks about how a fan created a tradition at Texas A&M university, enjoy

“no school takes the notion of fans and team working in concert quite to the extent that Texas A&M does. At Kyle Field, the student body spends the entire game on its feet, a symbolic 12th Man, ready to lend a hand in case they are called upon.

The 12th Man is not only a cool tradition; it’s a longstanding one with an organic back story. With injuries decimating his team in the 1922 Dixie Classic, Aggies coach Dana X. Bible was fearful of running out of players in a game against Centre College. So he called E. King Gill, who had recently left the football team to concentrate on basketball, from the stands to fortify his squad.

Texas A&M went on to win the game, 22-14. Gill didn’t play a down, but he did answer the call and stood at the ready, and now the entire Aggies student body does likewise at every game at Kyle Field.

You can pretty much judge a crowd’s level of engagement by the amount of time it spends on its collective feet, and no student body is more committed to its team than the Aggies, who render useless a whole lot of the 83,002 seats at Kyle Field in College Station.”
